What is Osora’s Big Secret?

Growing up, Osora has been struggling with several issues, and one of them is losing his mother, Syrena, right after his birth. This tragic accident has traumatized him so much that he blames himself for his mother’s demise. In Chapter 20, we learn about Osora’s big secret. While King Antonio was grieving, holding his deceased wife in his arms, his brother, Vargas, was quick to decide how to navigate this situation. He commands the guards to guard the doors at all costs. Upon learning it’s a girl child, he warns the maids not to open their mouths. He starts advising the king on how if he doesn’t have a male heir, he will lose his position.
Vargas gives him the idea to declare it’s a boy child and raise him as the heir to his throne. King Antonio Calaveras agrees, “Yes, tell them to announce to the kingdom, a prince has been born.” Making Syrena’s wish true, he names him ‘Osora’. Osora’s big secret will certainly resonate with several readers, especially the queer folks.
Osora’s Relationship With Arias

Growing up, Osora’s sister Celia Calaveras was his only true friend who knew everything about him, including his secret. Being his older sister, she also helped him conceal his real identity. Upon getting to know about Osora and Arias’s relationship, she even warned him about the consequences. Aside from their family’s reputation, Celia’s concerns revolve around Osor’a biological sex and how it might impact their relationship and future. Osora reassures her saying Arias is loyal and would never talk behind his back. Clarifying, Celia confirms that she trusts Arias, however, if their relationship thrives and they get physically intimate, it will be difficult for anyone to hide Osora’s big secret.
Realizing it’s stupid to hide anything from Arias, Osora Calaveras decides to confess about his biological identity in Chapter 21. Osora reveals to Arias how his father and uncle took the rash decision of declaring him as a boy since that was the only alternative. Seeing him visibly struggle to open up about his biological sex, Arias hugs him from the back, saying he has figured it out. He reassures him saying it doesn’t matter to him, “I like you because you’re Osora.” Although Osora’s big secret was tough for him to confess, Arias was understanding, showcasing his affection and admiration for Osora.
